One of the tasks that fire team 11 trained on was the proper way to handle snags. Pfc. Philip DuBose attacks the lower trunk of a snag with his Pulaski to prevent it from crashing on his fellow team members. Snags are dangerous to firefighters because they are badly burned trees with damage that makes them that are unstable and more likely to fall.
