ARABIAN GULF (Aug. 18, 2016) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Matthew Goodwin, from Camden, S.C., heats up a purchase cable terminal in the socket-pouring room of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike) to prepare for molten zinc to be poured in and form a socket. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
