U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Sean Gainy tours the Patriot Missile training area on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 16, 2016. Soldiers with Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery performed Patriot Battery Certification training in which the battery simulated missile defense for the island. The Patriot Air and Missile Defense System is a surface-to-air defense capability designed to detect, target and destroy incoming missiles or aircraft.
