Cameron Shew practices a “turkey peak” during a Combat Operations Center Exercise aboard Camp Pendleton, California., Aug. 23, 2016. Shew is an administration clerk with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Marines conducted room clearing drills during COCEX an exercise designed to give the 15th MEU command element an opportunity to conduct command-and-control exercises based on likely missions while deployed in order to enhance unit proficiency.
