Maj. Gen. Charles Chiarotti poses for a photo with an attendee of the Japan Self-Defense Force Fire Power Demonstration Aug. 28 at the East Fuji Maneuver Area aboard Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji. The JSDF showed off its fire and maneuver capabilities with tanks, artillery, and various other combined arms demonstration assets. The East Fuji Maneuver Area is one of the bilateral, live-fire ranges and maneuver areas where U.S. forces and the JSDF participate in infantry level training simulations together, strengthening relationships between Japan and the United States. Chiarotti is the deputy commander for U.S. Forces Japan.
