John Moulton, commodore of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 2, recognizes Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician (Retired) Patrick Flanigan for his service in combat after presenting him the Purple Heart Medal during a ceremony in front of EODGRU 2 headquarters on Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek. Flanigan, formerly assigned to EOD Mobile Unit 2, was nominated for the medal after being injured during operations in Ar Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
