Marines with Task Force Los Angeles participated in the “Conquer the Bridge” race during L.A. Fleet Week in San Pedro, Calif., Sept. 5, 2016. “Conquer the Bridge” is a Los Angeles Labor Day tradition that started in 2009. The race consists of a five-mile run from downtown San Pedro, across the Vincent Thomas Bridge and back. This year’s race was the culminating event of the first Los Angeles Fleet Week. L.A. Fleet Week is an event designed to showcase the capabilities of the Navy-Marine Corps team to L.A. residents, and an opportunity for members of the sea services to meet and thank the community for its support.
