Gunnery Sergeant Raymundo Perez, supply chief, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, stands at attention while Captain Michael Kaniuk, supply and fiscal officer, 15th MEU, pins an Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal above Perez' Eagle, Globe and Anchor. The ceremony took place in the hangar bay aboard USS Peleliu. Perez and approximately 2,000 other Marines and sailors are underway for a routine, seven-month deployment throughout the Western pacific.
