NORFOLK, Va. (Sept. 6, 2016) -- Electrician's Mate Fireman Brian Stack, of Philadelphia, Pa. acts as a safety observer by holding a rope attached to the electrical safety suit worn by Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Alex Provonsha, of Knoxville, Tenn during an electrical testing operation in aft steering aboard USS Bataan (LHD 5). In case of an electrical casualty, the safety observer can remove the other Sailor from the power source with the rope. Bataan is in preparation for an upcoming planned deployment.
