Commanding general of 1st Armored Division and United States Division - Center, Maj. Gen. Terry Wolff, reads a letter during the USD-C Memorial Day Observance written by a fallen Soldier whose chopper crashed, July 7, 1970, while he and six others traveled to visit wounded warriors near Saigon, Vietnam. The author, Maj. John Alexander Hottell III was the aide-de-camp of Maj. Gen. George Casey, Sr. who also died in the crash. Casey was the father of the current Chief of Staff of the Army.
