South African helicopters and South African military personnel during the opening day of the 2016 Africa Aerospace and Defense Airshow Sept. 14, 2016. The New York Army and Air National Guard sent Airmen and Soldiers, a C-17 Globemaster, MQ-19 Reaper and a C-130 to participate in the show. They were part of a U.S. contingent of over 100
service members. The African Aerospace & Defense Expo provided a unique opportunity for the
U.S. to showcase its military personnel and equipment and promote strong
