Col. Christopher Gideons, the commanding officer of 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, addresses Marines before a ground fighting tournament at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Sept. 9, 2016. Every section of the unit competed in the tournament as a way to build unit cohesion and increase combat readiness.
