A Coast Guard boat crew from Station Yaquina Bay, out of Newport, Ore., pass under the Yaquina Bay Bridge while getting familiar with their new 29-foot Response Boat-Small II, Sept. 15, 2016.

Station Yaquina Bay’s area of responsibility extends from Cape Perpetua to Spencer Creek, totaling 27 miles of coast. The crew responds to as many as 590 search and rescue cases per year.
