Posing in the cargo area of a 7-ton truck, Cpl. Jimmy D. Miller, 20-year-old machine gunner with Security Platoon, Combat Logistics Company 117, Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Fwd), was awarded the Purple Heart medal for injuries sustained while engaged in operations in the Al Anbar Province. Recovering from shrapnel injuries to his wrist, he was able to fulfill his duties for the remainder of the deployment. Miller said he was grateful the personal protective equipment prevented any further injury.
