Lance Cpl. Jose C. Lopez, a 26-year-old Bronx, N.Y. native, uses determination in an effort to finish as the top contestant in the tire flip competition. The motor vehicle operator for Security Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Fwd), finished second in the competition. The "Fun day" featured many events that gave Marines and sailors from all over the battalion time to relax, enjoy physical competition and entertainment. According to Sergeant Major Shelley D. Sergeant, sergeant major of CLB-5, it was a way for their command to reward them for a successful deployment.
