160921-N-NF288-135 PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 21, 2016) A C-2A Greyhound from Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 30, also known as the “Providers,” is parked on the flight deck of the Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The C-2A’s primary mission is to deliver cargo, mail and passengers. USS Ronald Reagan is participating in Exercise Valiant Shield 2016, a biennial, U.S.-only field-training exercise with a focus on integration of joint training among U.S. forces. This training enables real-world proficiency in sustaining joint forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
