U.S. Navy sailors with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11 and Marines with Marine Air Control Squadron 4, form a line of scrimmage for an airfield seizure exercise during Valiant Shield 16 on Tinian, Sept. 20, 2016. The Sailors and Marines acted as opposing forces for Marines with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment who seized the island during the exercise after they were transported by several MV-22B Ospreys. Valiant Shield is a biennial, U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps exercise held in Guam, focusing on real-world proficiency in sustaining joint forces at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace.
