Libby Mojica, a research biologist, and Dr. Bryan Watts from the Center for Conservation Biology at the College of William and Mary, take a series of measurements including wing, tail, culmen, talon and tarsus length from a seven-week-old bald eagle at Naval Support Facility Indian Head, Md. Seth Berry, an environmental specialist from Naval Support Facility Indian Head, records the data on gender and growth rates. The effort is part of an initiative to keep the habitat safe for raptors.
