Sgt. Maj. Anthony Spadaro, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward) sergeant major, receives a quick lesson about operating a M134 mini gun before test firing the weapon at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, June 8. Spadaro and Brig. Gen. Andrew W. O'Donnell Jr., commanding general of 3rd MAW (FWD), flew with the British aboard a CH-47 Chinook to learn the aircraft's capabilities. O'Donnell piloted the aircraft during the flight and Spadaro fired several hundred rounds using the weapon's 2,000- and 4,000-rounds-per-minute settings.
