ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 03, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Javier Calderon, from Asheville, N.C., reviews his announcements while standing boatswain’s mate of the watch on the bridge of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Calderon serves aboard Ike as a boatswain’s mate and is responsible for all enlisted watch standers on the bridge, 1MC calls and maintaining order on the bridge. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
