Alice Hutchins shows two small pieces of trinitite she found at the Trinity Site during an open house at White Sands Missile Range Oct. 1, 2016. She promptly put the trinitite back down. Trinitite, created when the world’s first nuclear bomb exploded at the site in 1945, is radioactive and illegal to take from the site.
