Gov. John Hoeven (left) and others applaud for Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota adjutant general, as he examines the framed citation of the North Dakota Legion of Merit award he received moments before. Members of Sprynczynatyk's family were present to include his brother, Douglas Sprynczynatyk (right), wife, Mrs. Connie Sprynczynatyk (far right), and his mother, Mrs. Anne Sprynczynatyk (seated).
