Employers of local guardsmen and reservists received the chance to tour vessels of the 949th Transportation Company (Floating Craft), an Army Reserve unit, as part of an ESGR Bosslift here June 4. Employers sailed into Inner Harbor on the USAV MG Robert Smalls LSV-8 (left), a Logistics Support vessel named after a civil war slave pilot whose actions reflected "his patriotism and love of liberty" and opened the doors for African-Americans to join the U.S. military.
