ARABIAN SEA (Oct. 5, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Joel Garcia conducts maintenance on an M240B machine gun aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80). Garcia serves as a gunner’s mate aboard Roosevelt and is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all gunnery equipment. Roosevelt, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
