Special Forces teams from 18 nations march in formation during the opening ceremony of this year's Fuerzas Comando 2010, which was held at the 1st Dominican Infantry Brigade "August 16" military base in the capital city of Santo Domingo, June 16. The exercise is a unique opportunity for participating nations of the Americas to improve their special operations capabilities. Fuerzas Comando is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored special operations skills competition and senior leader seminar is designed to improve regional cooperation, enhance mutual trust, increase military interoperability and advance the counter-terrorism training and readiness of participating special operations forces.
