161015-N-TC437-1050 BALTIMORE (Oct. 15, 2016) Master Chief Petty Officer Leonard Greene hi-fives crew members of the Navy's newest and most technologically advanced warship, USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000), as the ship is brought to life during a commissioning ceremony at North Locust Point in Baltimore. Crewed by 147 Sailors, Zumwalt is the lead ship of a class of next-generation destroyers designed to strengthen naval power by performing critical maritime missions and enhancing U.S. deterrence, power projection and sea control objectives.
