The event was part of the 2010 Fuerzas Comando competition. Eighteen teams from nations across the Western Hemisphere participated in the nine-mile ruck march in a bid to be named the 2010 Fuerzas Comando champion, a special operation competition held annual by the U.S. Southern command.
