Seaman Recruit Michael Komarack, machinist's mate, inflates the Submarine Escape Immersion Equipment MK-10 suite at the Basic Enlisted Submarine School at Naval Submarine Base New London, Conn. The suite is designed to allow submariners to escape from sunken submarines as well as to protect against hypothermia.
