161023-N-NF288-158 WATERS OF THE COAST OF JAPAN (Oct. 23, 2016) Seaman Nathan Mccoy, from Mount Vernan, Washington, removes a retaining nut from a retaining screw in the ground support equipment (GSE) shop aboard the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Retaining nuts and screws are a component found in the ship’s aircraft jacks, used lift jets when conducting maintenance.
