U.S. Soldiers with the 1st Squadron, 153rd Cavalry Regiment attached to 1st Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment, run to their next stress event in an effort to earn their silver spurs during a spur ride event in support of Combined Joint Task Force- Horn of Africa at a nearby airfield in Djibouti, Oct. 21, 2016. Twenty-eight U.S. Army Soldiers and one Air Force Airman participated in the traditional Army event where they completed 10 tasks with various stress events before each task in approximately 19 hours. Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is a multinational effort to conduct theater security cooperation, combat violent extremism and enable freedom of movement within East Africa in order to defend U.S. interests and support aligned regional efforts.
