This flag will be recognized for flying during Operation Inherent Resolve and the in support of the liberation of Mosul, Iraq. Service members can request to have American flags flown aboard U.S. military aircraft, generally on any day they choose; they are often given as gifts or kept as a personal memorabilia of a certain combat operation.
