Marines with 2nd and 3rd Intel Battalion, Ground Sensor Platoons, return from placing and adjusting sensors and imagers to catch illicit activities. Marines place the sensors where they won’t easily be seen, and because the sensor doesn’t have to be directly stepped on, they place off to the side of common trails. The Marines, under the tactical control of Joint Task Force North worked in support of the U.S. Border Patrol. Their combined mission is to detect, monitor, and alert USBP of potential narcotics smuggling, human trafficking, and illegal personnel. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Brianna Gaudi)
