U.S. Marines and Sailors from 1st Marine Logistics Group watch an interactive presentation to raise awareness about sexual assault at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 27, 2016. The skit was created, written, and conducted by Marines from 1st MLG to provide first-hand examples of how to handle a normal situation that could end up going badly. The event consisted of a skit put on by 1st MLG Marines and a discussion hosted by the Date Safe Project founder Mike Domitrz. The Date Safe Project is a sexual assault awareness organization started in 2003, whose primary goal is to leave a positive impact on issues surrounding sexual assault and healthy intimacy. The Date Safe Project provides materials and advocacy programs for middle schools, high schools, universities, community organizations as well as the United States Military. “Talk first, ask first and respect the answer,” said Domitrz during this event.
