Perry Shoemaker celebrates as she crosses the finish line as the overall top female finisher of the 41st Marine Corps Marathon (MCM), with an actual finish time of 2 hours, 51 minutes, 48 seconds, Arlington, Va., Oct. 30, 2016. Also known as "The People's Marathon," the 26.2 mile race drew roughly 30,000 participants to promote physical fitness, generate goodwill in the community, and showcase the organizational skills of the Marine Corps.
