The Boeing Aircraft KC-135 Stratotanker turned 60 this year. In 1956 the jet age was coming of age and designers in Detroit were mimicking what was being produced in Seattle. Cars were faster, designers added items like wings, wrap around windows, turbines and even afterburner tail lights for decoration. Because of proper maintenance many automobiles like the 56 Chevy and aircraft like the KC-135, are still flying down the road and in the air today. (Illustrative)
