    72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (36th ID, TXARNG)

    Spc. Diego Gonzalez, from San Antonio, with Echo Company, 536th Brigade Support Battalion, 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 36th Infantry Division, out of Fredericksburg, Texas, receives a coin from Tyler resident Brig. Gen. James 'Red' Brown, director, Joint Staff, Joint Force Headquarters, Texas Army National Guard at Biggs Air Field, Fort Bliss, Texas, July 10, for being one of the youngest Soldiers to deploy to Iraq with that unit. The unit is returning from deployment to Camp Ashraf, Iraq, under Capt. Melissa Brown, the 536th BSB company commander from San Antonio, and 1st Sgt. Rogelio Hernandez of Kingwood, the company first sergeant, in Dec. 2009. Several top Texas National Guard leaders were on hand to greet the returning Soldiers, including Austin resident Col. David W. Madden, the deputy commander for the 72nd IBCT, and Deerpark resident, Command Sgt. Maj. Richard Sublett, with the 1st Squadron of the 112th Cav.
