SUEZ CANAL (Oct. 30, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Jeffrey Cook, from Greeneville, Tenn. (left), and Chief Petty Officer Robert Strupczewski, from Runnemede, N.J.,track surface contacts in the combat information center of the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87). Cook works as an operations specialist aboard Mason and is responsible for general shipboard operations while Strupczewski works as a fire controlman aboard Mason and is responsible for operating the ship’s weapons systems. Mason, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
