Petty Officer Jerome Manuel, Ensign Jake Carlton and Petty Officer Jeffrey Spies conduct flare pyrotechnic training off the stern of Coast Guard Cutter Active while on patrol.

The Active is a 210-foot medium endurance cutter with a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles. The cutter is homeported in Port Angeles, Washington.
