The 2nd Engineer Battalion, currently stationed at Kuwait Naval Base, burn their unit colors in commemoration of the Battle of Kunu-Ri, when the unit burned its colors before being overran by the Chinese army, Nov. 28, 2016. Soldiers from the battalion burn their colors to remember those fallen and captured in the fierce fighting. In 1950, the Chinese army surprised U.S. and U.N. forces by entering into the Korean War and forcing the U.S. Eighth Army and its units to withdraw from positions in present day North Korea.
