Senior Airman Than, 42nd Attack Squadron MQ-9 sensor operator, poses for a photo Nov. 28, 2016 at Creech Air Force Base, Nev. As a sensor operator Than is responsible for operating the Multi-Spectral Targeting System for reconnaissance and lasing targets for guided munitions. The position of sensor operator is open to enlisted Airmen and is unique because members as young as 20 play key roles in keeping U.S. and coalition ground forces safe while providing persistent attack and reconnaissance to the combatant commanders to contest terrorism.
