MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Dec. 5, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Walter Sanders, from San Antonio, directs a C-2A Greyhound assigned to the Rawhides of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 40 on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Sanders serves aboard Ike as an aviation boatswain’s mate (handling). Ike, currently deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
