Loer and Burpee were both born at Tripler Army Medical Center on the island of Oahu on Dec. 7, 1941. They participcated in a dinner that was part of a week long celebration commemorating the 75th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, Hickam Field and Oahu.
