Ryan Muzzell, a lifeguard with the beach detachment, Company A, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, and a rifleman with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, watches beach patrons as they play in the waters of Onslow Beach, June 10. Onslow Beach lifeguards, many of whom recently returned from combat missions overseas, help save lives on the homefront by being the eagle eyes of the sea and enforcers of the beach laws.
