EASTERN TRAINING AREA, OKINAWA, Japan – Marines with 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force carry MK-19 grenade launcher ammunition to their weapon systems which they set up down range during the annual rifle squad/crew-serve weapon competition held from Nov. 28 through Dec. 2 at the Eastern Training Area, Okinawa, Japan. Squads formed from 3rd Marine Division’s major subordinate commands and Marines with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II MEF, competed to earn the title Super Squad. The squad competition is slowly making a return to the Marine Corps after being put on hold during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
