Jeffrey Colon-Abreu, a motor transportation mechanic with Combat Logistics Battalion 11, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, checks the radiator of a Humvee during Exercise Alligator Dagger, Dec. 9. Maintenance checks are conducted regularly, ensuring essential machinery, equipment and vehicles function properly to remain combat-ready. Throughout Alligator Dagger, a U.S. 5th Fleet exercise, Marines and Sailors with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and 11th MEU are focusing on: amphibious assaults; helo-borne raids; visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) operations; air strikes; mechanized movements with tanks and light armored vehicles; tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel; ground reconnaissance; and quick reaction force and casualty evacuation rehearsals.
