    Kate Morrand, an artifact conservator at Naval History and Heritage Command, inspects a piece of pottery recovered from the wreck of the sloop-of-war USS Scorpion. The ship was scuttled in the Patuxtent River during the War of 1812 to avoid capture by British forces.
