NAGO CITY, OKINAWA, Japan – Lt. Gen. Lawrence Nicholson, the Okinawa Area Coordinator and the III Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general, meets with Okinawa Prefectural Police Officers working with Marines to recover a downed MV-22 Osprey Dec. 19 near Abu, Nago City, Okinawa, Japan. While visiting the site, Nicholson also met with local officials and residents. Nicholson was very thankful for the Japan Coast Guard, Okinawa Prefectural Police, and other Japanese agencies for their critical assistance in the recovery of the crew.
