The shield is a visual identifier for the 137th Special Operations Wing Public Affairs Office. The circular shape honors our history and combat camera heritage, the shutter represents how we document and tell our story, the globe represents our world audience, the quill represents the free flow of information (similar to our speciality badge) and replaces the dagger from the Air Force Special Operations Command patch, the feather pattern honors Oklahoma's Native American culture and the AFSOC feathers represent our new mission and MAJCOM.
