Bremerhaven, Germany – Maj. Gen. Timothy McGuire, deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Europe, Maj. Gen. Duane Gamble, commanding general, 21st Theater Sustainment Command and German Maj. Gen. Josef Blotz, director of operations at NATO’s International Military Staff, speaks to media and answers questions about the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. Behind him the unit’s vehicles are unloaded off the ship, ARC Resolve, at the port in Bremerhaven, Germany, Jan. 6, 2017. 3/4 ABCT’s arrival marks the start of back-to-back rotations of armored brigades in Europe as part of Atlantic Resolve. The vehicles and equipment, totaling more than 2,700 pieces, will be shipped to Poland for certification before deploying across Europe for use in training with partner nations. This rotation will enhance deterrence capabilities in the region, improve the U.S. ability to respond to potential crises and defend allies and partners in the European community.
