A U.S. Air Force F-16CM Fighting Falcon assigned to the 20th Fighter Wing approaches a KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron from Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., during collaborative refueling training over the Atlantic Ocean, Dec. 21, 2016. KC-135s are capable of carrying and transferring up to 200,000 pounds of fuel, extending the flying time of aircraft such as the F-16 by eliminating the need for pilots to refuel on land.
